Our results in the 2000 show season
The shows of 2000 are mentioned in “backwards”
order; last show comes first.
Goerlev Foal Show - 17th September
Our colt foal Valhalla's Camelot - the one we have decided to keep - did well, and
ended up 2nd in the Overall Colt Foal championship.
Also the yearling filly Valhalla's Meg Ryan did well, and ended up 3rd in the Overall Filly
championship, and she won a special prize.
The Welsh Pony Day at Tuse Næs 2nd September
Hillary has - as you might know - had a fantastic show season this year, and we
have therefore decided to allow her her full freedom for the rest of the year. In
stead we showed Trevallion Chloe, for whom is was the first show this year, and she
ended up 2nd in her class - only being beaten by the super-sec.C-mare
Tyrcoedbach Melodi owned by Erik Olsen, our dear brother-in-law.
Chloe's colt foal Valhalla's Camelot won his class, and even ended up 3rd in the Overall Championship - defeating his dam and becoming the highest
placed Welsh Cob in the show - only 3½ month old !!!
International Welsh Show in Holland - 12th
August
Valhalla’s Hillary in Holland
Valhalla's Hillary was 2nd in a very strong class of brood mares; the winner was HS Image,
who ended up as Overall Supreme Champion of the whole show, and this mare also
won the Royal Welsh Show a few weeks earlier.
Also Valhalla's Jesse James was 2nd in his strong foal class, while Valhalla's Meg Ryan was 3rd in her class of yearling fillies.
Danish National Grading Show - 29th
& 30th July
Valhalla's Hillary was 1st and graded in Class I, and in the show on Sunday she again was
1st. Later on she was Female- & Supreme Champion sec.D and Overall
Supreme Champion.
Also her colt foal Valhalla's Jesse James won his class. And 2 other Valhalla mares, that we
have sold to other studs in Denmark, were graded in class I.
Finally we won the very prestigious
competition - Welsh Stud of the
Year - with the
great mares Valhalla's Queen of Hearts (owned by the Dynamite Stud), Valhalla's
Star Actress (owned by the
Uglegården Stud) and Hilllary - all sired by Calerux Black Prince.
Pegasus Show - 8th July
Valhalla's Hillary won her class
and was later on Overall
Supreme Champion of the whole show, in front of some of the best ponies and cobs from
Denmark and Sweden.
Valhalla's Jesse James was second in his class.
Roskilde Agricultural Show - 2nd - 4th June
We showed a broodmare, and took part in
the ridden display with 2 more broodmares.
Valhalla's Hillary won her class
with 24 points (which is maximum !!) and a special prize. And later on she won
the Overall Female
Championship from the top 25
mares of the whole show. Roskilde is the largest and most prestigious
agricultural show in Denmark, and therefore the female championship is very
prestigious, as the 25 participating horse breeds each bring their best
broodmare into this competition.
Hillary's victory means, that we now have
won 5 overall championships in Roskilde during the last 10 years:
1990 Rotherdale Heiress
Overall Champion; 2 year old fillies
1993 Valhalla's Harri ap
Prince Overall Champion; Colt foals
1994 Valhalla's Queen of
Hearts Overall Foal Champion
1994 Valhalla's Emily
Overall Champion; 3 year old fillies
2000 Valhalla's Hillary
Overall Female Champion
In the ridden display we participated with
Rotherdale Heiress - ridden by Julie - and Rotherdale
Eclipse - ridden by
Carl, who (as you can see
from the photos) demonstrated a
new and very active style of riding !!

Dorthealyst Youngstock Show -
29th April
We showed 1 filly ourselves, and 2 other
VALHALLA youngstock were shown by their new owners:
1. Valhalla's Charlie Brown - owned by the Dynamite Stud, Svebølle, DK
Charlie, a yearling colt by Trevallion Al Pacino & Trevallion Chloe,
was 1st in his class with good marks (five times 8 (from10)), and in the
semi-final he was 3rd, and thus only 1 place from a place in the overall
championship.
2. Valhalla's MacBeth - owned by the Lindberg Stud, Thyholm, DK
MacBeth, a 2 year old colt by Llanarth Cadfael & Valhalla's Emily,
was 2nd in his class with the marks 8-8-7-8-8, but in the semi-final
"he had his revench", as he won over the colt, that earlier in the
day had won their class. This meant, that MacBeth ended up in the final
championship and was placed 6th from 9 entries.
3. Valhalla's Meg Ryan - owned by ourselves.
Meg Ryan, a yearling filly and fullsister to MacBeth, won her class with
the marks 8-9-8-8-8, and later on she won the semi-final and qualified for the
final, where she ended up after her brother as no. 8.
