The 2001 season
In 2001 we participated in 5 shows.
1. The Youngstock show at Dorthealyst Saturday the 21st
April
2. The Annual National Grading show
In mid-August we had the Annual Danish
Grading Show with Mr. Len Bigley (Llanarth) and Ms. Rosemary Philipson-Stow
(Pendock) judging.
We showed Valhalla's Hillary again this year, and she repeated her 2000 victory as
she won her showclass, the female championship, the Supreme Welsh Cob
championship and a new perpetual Cup for the Best Danish-bred Welsh Cob.
With this victory we have now got a
remarkable record list as our Cobs between them have won the Annual National
Cob championship 12 years from 14 possible.
It happened this way:
Of course we are very proud of this, and
we will work hard to see it continue. But it gets harder and harder every year,
as our friends and competitors are also improving every day because they are
importing and breeding stock of excellent quality.
This year we are very pleased to note the
success of the Lindberg Stud (see a
link in the Links section) in Northern Jutland. They have bought some nice
mares, and won with one of them (Rotherdale Nerys) this year. And they bought a
promising colt from us three years ago. He is Valhalla's MacBeth and we were very
proud to see ham graded in Class I as the first Cob stallion we have bred to go
this far. He also won the Youngstock championship and was reserve for the Male,
so he will no doubt have a future in the limelight!
Valhalla’s MacBeth
Congratulations to the Lindberg Stud !!!
3/4/5. The Autumn Foals shows
In September we showed our foals three
times:
We ended up winning all three Overall
Supreme champion titles with Valhalla's Hazel (winning at Funen and Zealand) and Valhalla's Cherry (winning in Jutland).
Thus the show season 2001 was over and the results were amazing:
+ 5 championships
