2004
Here you can read about the major show events of 2004:
1. The
National Grading show in August
2. The Roskilde
Agricultural Show in June
3. The
Youngstock show at Dorthealyst in April
1. The greatest
showing event of 2004 was The National Grading show (7th &
8th August). Even if the agricultural show in Roskilde was absolutely formidable
(read more below) - yet
we had so admit that the Grading show even topped that!
During the grading on Saturday Julie’s
super-filly Valhallas Hazel again ended up first an was graded in 1st Class
as all her sisters out of Rotherdale Heiress! Sundays showclasses also ended up
in great success:

Hazel again won her class
and thus qualified for the championships: She was Youngstock Champion, res. Female
Champion og res. Supreme Champion.

Valhallas Jennifer (Hillary’s filly foal) had her show debut and finished
2nd in her class.

The progeny group out of our 16 year old
foundation mare Rotherdale Heiress was awarded the very seldom and magical maximum-points: 1st Class 1st Degree 24 points - and an outstanding description; fantastic!!!
And ”good old” Heiress even took part in the show herself, even if she had ended
her very successful show ring carrier 6 years ago (in 1998). It as obvious to everybody,
that she thoroughly enjoyed her ”revival” and she looked really well in the
ring where she finished second - only beaten by her own daughter, Hillary!
On top of this the show also included the
new tradition: The Danish
Championship for studs, where we took part with the 3 Valhallas
females: Hazel, Cherry & Hillary. After a very close race with the sec.B ponies from the Bjerregaard stud
we finished 1st. Thus the 3 mares secured us the 3rd National Stud
Championship in 5 years!

But the greatest of them all is still Hillary!!
She again won her show class (beating her
dam), and then she went all the way to the top as Female Cob champion, Supreme Cob
Champion and BEST-IN-SHOW!

Thus Hillary secured herself a page in the
Danish/Welsh history books: She is the first Welsh (of any section) to have won
the National Overall Supreme title 3 times!! (in 2000, 2002 & 2004).
2. The other great
event of the summer was Roskilde Agricultural show d. 4th – 6th June:
We participated with 4 entries and all
4 ended up as the representatives of the Welsh breeds in the Interbreed
championships. And here they did extremely well, as we ended up with these results:
Valhallas Hazel: 24 points (maximum), a special prize and the title as Best 3-year-old filly of the show!!
Trevallion Lady Lillian: Nr. 1 med 24 points and a special prize; 3rd
in the finals for Overall Female Championship of the show.
Valhallas Maggie May: 22 points; 5th in the finals for the Overall
2-year-old filly championship.
Valhallas Lord Mathrafal: Chosen as the best Welsh foal; unplaced in the overall
finals
Here are some photos from the successful weekend

3. The show season
2004 started in April with the Youngstock show at Dorthealyst:
We showed the yearling filly Valhallas Victoria,
who won her class.
